Forum Rules
Introduction
Below you will find the forum policy for this board. Please make sure that you read the rules before registering. The board is set so that you can only see the Forum Guidelines section to make sure that you have read the board rules. To see all other forums, you have to register. Other topics are found in here, which are of relevance to posting properly on the community boards. As soon as you have registered, you will see other forums as well. The Policing for this board can be found below the “Rules and Regulations” section of this document.

When participating in a Forum, never assume that people are who the say they are, know what they say they know, or are affiliated with whom they say they are affiliated with in any chat room, message board, or other user generated content area. Information obtained in a Forum may not be reliable. We cannot be responsible for the content or accuracy of any information, and shall not be responsible for any decisions made based on such information.
Duplicate Accounts
Please do not create dupe accounts on the HPC Forums. We have a modification in place that tells us instantly if a user has the same IP as another.
Users who are found to be opening multiple accounts will be redirected here, and have their dupes deleted. Further violations will result in permanent banning, then IP Bans and then a ban from the entire server.
If another member of your household wishes to join, you should inform an admin (Deputy Headmaster or the Headmaster) immediately and tell the person you wish to join not to use the same email address to register.
No Spamming
Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstances. Spam currently counts, but is not limited to repeating threads in other forums, sending multiple Private Messages to others and repeating topics in the same forum where the original was closed. Flaming, but posting in a spammish way, is also considered to be spam. Spambots will usually use the PM system to send a lot of messages with the same subject to as many members as possible. If you have received one of these type of messages, post in Forum Issues with the details of the PM and how many people got the message. Do not use the report system for these messages, or we won’t be able to stop the spambot quick enough. Thanks!
Thread Necromancy
If the last post made in a thread is older than 30 days, don't post in the thread, since you will receive a warning and the thread will be locked. If you think the topic was good enough, just create another thread. There's no harm in doing that, but refrain from bumping old threads.
No Warez!!
Not at all, anywhere on this site. Mentioning the word in a post or hinting to torrents, warez and such will get you fired out of the nearest cannon. It's the most evil thing on the planet.
You will have your account deleted, your IP banned, and you will have your ISP contacted. No exceptions to anyone!!
No Text-Message Speak
No text-message speak. Although it's quicker, posts become harder to read and are illegible. Keep to simple, English speaking posts. If it's not your first language, have a go, but please let us know if it isn't your first language, and we can get a language pack installed for you.
Swearing
The HPC Admins have agreed that swearing is allowed here. If you swear moderately in posts, it will be fine. However, it is not allowed to swear in every post you make. Example:
Post 1: Hey there faggot
Post 2: Wow, you are a shit
etc.
This will result in a warning from a moderator.
No Trolling/Flaming
Trolling and flaming will not be tolerated at this board. Trolling is defined as “someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.” Repeating threads will also be considered trolling if the intent is to upset other members or cause flame wars on the board. Flaming is provoking someone for their work with the intent of getting them to reply in retaliation. None of this will be tolerated and you will be immediately warned, possibly suspended depending on the nature of the trolling and flames.
Post in Correct Forum
Make sure you post your topics in the relevant sections. The forums all have forum descriptions which tell you the nature of the board you are wanting to post your topic in. The moderators and administrators of this board will not move threads if there is already a discussion taking place in the proposed forum. We will not clear up after you, so do not just post a thread in any forum and expect someone to move it. You will be warned if you are caught doing this.
No Duplicate Topics
If a topic is closed, do not create the thread again as you will be warned for it. It is frowned upon to duplicate a thread that was originally closed. If you disagree with the staff decision to close your thread, do not post a thread criticizing the moderation of this board or the person that closed your thread. All moderators and administrators here moderate in different ways, so just point out the thread and give reasons why it shouldn’t be closed in Forum Issues. If you argue the mod/admin closed your thread without a reason, you may be warned for your actions.
No Advertising
Advertising your forums or anything linking to advertisements is forbidden. The board is not a place for you to advertise anything, including forums, special websites that get you to click something giving you instant money etc. You will be suspended if you have been here for more than a year: all times before that, you will be permanently banned from the community or warned. The only place you are allowed forum linking or anything like that is your signature space. If the topic you are reading may have relevance to board linking, then this is permitted because it has relevance to the topic in question, but everything else is not allowed.
